About
Thank you for choosing Fingers to Toes Photography. I am excited and thrilled to work with you and your family in creating precious memories that your whole family will treasure for a life time.
About Jennifer, Natural Light Photographer in the NOVA area:
I am Jennifer; Single mom of 2 beautiful kids (they are featured in my photographs constantly); they tend to get sick of mommy always holding the camera! But they are excellent models and good sports! I have always had a love for children as well as photography. I have worked with children for over 13 years; in many different environments. From infants on up, watching them grow, learn and experience there world has always amazed me – because of my love, and experience, I am able to to put your children at ease and get them to work with me instead of fighting against me!
I have been a photographer for years as well, even as a small child – I often held a camera, a paint brush or crayon in my hands – constantly creating, constantly wanting to capture everything going on around me. And now with my trusty camera, which frankly I never go anywhere without, I am even better able to capture every moment I can – details of everyday life, that might otherwise be forgotten can now always be treasured.
I treat each photo shoot here in the NOVA area, as a special moment – as if I am photographing my own children – capturing their “innocent” moments. Moments that tomorrow maybe lost, forever. Please contact me for more information if you’re looking for a natural light photographer here in NOVA or surrounding areas. I look forward to working with you!
I also enjoy website design which I am currently in college for. I hope one day to combine the two, creating custom photographs as well as custom websites for your family.
Why should you choose me for your custom, natural light photographs?
With all the photographers and “chain stores” in the area, perhaps you’re wondering what makes Fingers to Toes Photography stand out above the rest and what makes custom photography so special?
The Time Factor: At Fingers to Toes Photography, there is no rush. Unlike local chains that rush you in and out because they they need to shoot as many sessions as possible in a day, Jennifer schedules only one to two shoots per day. Clothing changes are encouraged as is conversation, being “silly”, and feeding your baby.
Detail: Fingers to Toes Photography always captures the details and precious memories. Lets face it, anyone can push a button and take a picture. I strive to capture the personalities and moments that each family will treasure forever. I often take more time in post production processes as I do during our session. The reason: I select only the best images, and then bring them to life.
Uniqueness and Individuality: Fingers to Toes Photography is not traditional and realizes that your family is not like everyone else’s, so why should your photographer be? You will not hear me ask your child to “say cheese” or pose your family in front of some random backdrop. My goal is to portray your family and your children, as you are, capturing your quirky personalities, your silly smiles, and most of all you being you. My style is clean, bright, and photo journalistic. If you are looking for traditional, call me, I can recommend a few studios who specialize in that look.
Personalization: Fingers to Toes Photography specializes in personalization. I want to know your children, and you as parents. I will ask you several questions about your kids ahead of time (IE. Do they like the camera? Who is their favorite character?, etc.) On the day of our session, the first several minutes (depending on the child) will be spent talking to your children, giggling, laughing and having a good time. (be prepared for silly songs and goofy faces). My goal is to make your children, and you feel comfortable; when children are comfortable, they are happy and when they are happy they like to smile.
I want to know your family. While I often pay great attention to the children, making them feel comfortable, I also strive to create an atmosphere where you, the parents, also feel comfortable. Sometimes the silliest of conversations come up, but the idea is to get to know you better and to get to know your families dynamic ensuring that you’re relaxed and that you enjoy our time together. I will do what it takes to make you comfortable. The old cliché, “the camera does not lie”, is true. Relaxed, happy and comfortable people look relaxed, happy and comfortable in their portraits.
The Common Factor: I am a Mom too! I am a single mom of 2, a boy and a girl, they are the light and joy of my life. I believe all kids are unique, amazing and fascinating. Kids are just so “real” it amazes me how they want to dance in the rain, how they have such a sense of wonder and how each and every new experience is an amazing thing to behold. To have kids is to know kids – to love kids is to be reminded of when life was simpler and much more fun!
Ease and Accessibility: At Fingers to Toes Photography, I make it easy. Unlike the chain stores , I come to you for your photography session, in a location that makes you, as well as your children feel comfortable, at a date and time that works for your family. I only schedule 2 sessions per day so that each family has plenty of time to feed the baby, change clothes or do simple things like go to the bathroom. I load all of your final images on my website for private on line viewing so that even out-of-town family and friends can view your photos too.
Variety and Versatility: I can print your images in new and unique ways. Have you ever seen an image printed on canvas? Canvas prints really do take your photographs to the next level, they are clean, simple and modern. Imagine your kids as the “stars” in your family’s own unique coffee table book. This is a beautiful way to display multiple images from your session. I also offer other varieties of printing like photo cards – what’s more personal than a photo greeting from your whole family for the holidays or birthday invitation?
There is awesome an amazing website about just what goes into custom photography. It’s a wonderful read, if your wondering!
